WHAT TRAINING AND COURSES WILL THE PARTICIPATING STUDENTS RECEIVE THROUGH THE LOUISIANA DIGITAL NETWORK HIGHER LEARNING INITIATIVE?

The training and courses are vast and all encompassing.  There are two categories:  New Media Marketing and Multimedia Production.

Here’s an outline of the LDN Higher Learning Initiative:

NEW MEDIA MARKETING

  1. Overview of new media a/k/a social media marketing – what it is, how it works, and the implementation and etiquette involved in making it effective

  2. Strategic planning a/k/a planning sessions and making the planning sessions target their true goals and objectives

  3. Implementation of the strategic plan through all forms of new media

  4. Maintaining a daily-weekly-monthly marketing strategy

  5. Gaging results of the marketing strategy and whether or not it is effective and making the necessary real-time adjustments to fine tune the plan

MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION

MUSIC

  1. Recording and mixing music for all types of multimedia production including utilizing real musicians as well as modern day sampling techniques; the psychology of production

  2. Songwriting techniques; from coming up with the song idea to the proper structure when composing songs and soundtracks

  3. Mastering the music once it is completed

VIDEO

  1. Creating a video program concept which includes conceptualization, writing the audio/video script, and preparing a “proof of concept” a/k/a “pilot” of the program concept for presentation to broadcasters, distributors and investors

  2. Learning the production process of pre-production, production and post-production

  3. Participation in the entire production process by developing video concepts and producing them for digital distribution as well as conventional distribution

FILM

  1. Writing a film script, developing the characters and storyline, injecting “sub-plots”

  2. Shooting a film pilot and pitching the film to major studios, distributors, and broadcasters; films in the age of digital distribution

  3. The roles of Executive Producer, Director, Producer, wardrobe, set-design, various production staff positions

  4. Hands on participation in the actual making of conventional and animated films

SPECIAL EVENTS

  1. Staging, rigging, lights, live audio console mixing

  2. Stage design and implementation

  3. Physical labor aspects; everything from learning how to set up a stage full of musical equipment and lights to the correct way to handle cables, amplifiers, instruments; talent treatment

WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS PROVIDED BY LDN TO TEACH THE HIGHER LEARNING INITIATIVE?

Within the framework of LDN and Big Chief Entertainment, LLC themselves, there is over 200 combined years of professional marketing and production expertise.  In addition, LDN will supply seasoned professionals from all aspects of entertainment; marketing, production, direction, songwriters, recording engineers, production personnel and major artists to provide input and instruction to the participating students.

DOES LDN PROVIDE OR GUARANTEE PARTICIPATING STUDENTS WITH JOBS?

Participating students will be utilized on all professional productions and marketing teams possible while they are taking the higher learning initiative courses.  Students will have access to all the production job “tip sheets” announcing productions in Louisiana as well as in border states such as Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.  If there is a major production or event coming to these areas that require personnel, the students will know and can choose which ones to pursue.  In many instances, students will be be recommended to various production coordinators and producers by the higher learning initiative instructors themselves.

ARE THE LOUISIANA DIGITAL NETWORK AND THE LOUISIANA DIGITAL NETWORK FOUNDATION ONE IN THE SAME?

No.  LDN and LDNF are two separate entities with two separate purposes and missions.  A quick review of the LDN site and links provided should give a clear explanation what each entity does and who is involved.  If there are any questions related to either entity, there are email links to each one for more information.

WHAT IS THE “DONATE” BUTTON ON THE SITE FOR?

Anyone desiring to make a donation to assist the goals and mission of LDN are encouraged to utilize the DONATE button.  All revenue collected through the DONATE button goes directly to the Louisiana Digital Network Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization and is 100% tax deductible.  Proceeds are allocated by the LDNF and their Board of Directors to the LDN Higher Learning Initiative programs.  In addition, LDNF interfaces directly with all the participating institutions of higher learning to insure the integrity of the higher learning initiative and to provide funding for all aspects of LDN’s mission and goals as approved by LDNF and their Board.
